Six years back I swore I would never cut the cord. My Comcast bill had sailed past $60 a month and a neighbor kept going on about some box his cousin had set up. I brushed it off. Then my contract renewed higher for the same channels, and I finally sat down and tested every IPTV service I could find.

WHAT ACTUALLY MAKES A GOOD IPTV service
After 12 months and 10 providers, this is what I no longer bend on.
WHAT SEPARATES A STABLE IPTV service FROM A CHEAP ONE
One thing: how many servers they run, and whether you can switch between them yourself from inside the app. A provider with several will move you off a jammed route during peak load. A provider with one will calmly tell you the problem is on your end. Ask before you pay: how many servers, where they sit, and whether you can change yours. A pause on any of those three is your answer. Everything else â channel counts, 4K badges, lifetime deals â is background noise next to that.
WOULD I GO BACK?
No. I kept a cable login around for a while out of caution, and I stopped using it within a week. The only thing cable did better was the box collecting dust.
I save roughly $90 a month, and the picture is just as sharp. The biggest surprise was the setup: the whole house was running on the new service before I finished my coffee.
My one piece of advice: test during a live game, not on a Tuesday afternoon. Peak hours are where the real difference shows up.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between a cheap and a stable IPTV service?
A cheap one runs a single server and falls over during big games. A stable one runs several servers and lets you switch between them yourself. That one difference explains almost every buffering complaint you read online.
Can I watch live sports, or only TV shows?
Live sports are usually the main reason people switch. NFL, NBA, UFC, Premier League, and local channels are all included in a proper lineup, often in HD and 4K.
How do I know which provider to trust?
Start with a free trial, run it during peak hours, and test a second stream. A provider that is confident in its service lets you do all of that without a credit card.
If you ask me which provider I actually pay for, the answer is Now4K TV. It has held up through live games, fight nights, and everyday TV without a single issue I could blame on the service. Check current plans and the free trial at https://cutt.ly/JyvqllMy.
