Best low-code tools for mobile app development please
Apologies if this has already been asked. I'm a dev/cto of 30yrs so very technical, but not at all with mobile apps - somehow that slipped me by and I feel too old to go native now ;-)
But I have a few cool side-hustle app ideas that are itching away and I need to scratch.
I've googled the various no/low-code platforms but nothing excites me so far. I'd like it to be fairly no-code in many respects so I don't have to faff too much with screens - a nice drag+drop editor would be good. But then on the flipside a key thing I do need is the ability to make API calls to my web server so I can integrate with my backend DB.
All suggestions welcome.

There are plenty of no-code players in the market now but if you have a backend, then the 2 I'd recommend are:
It's actually even possible to use both of them together e.g. Bubble as a backend and AppGyver as the front.
A month or so back I used AppGyver to put together a PoC for an app and I was absolutely blown away by how simple it was to do everything. The only immediate drawback with AppGyver is that Authentication is a bit quirky but nothing that can't be worked around.
Bubble, on the other hand, is quite advanced as far as builders go so you'd probably be able to do most of what you'd like in Bubble but there is a learning curve to master it.
Personal recommendation would be that if you already have a backend, try out AppGyver otherwise Bubble is pretty great!

AppGyver - now that looks the dogs wotsits! very cool...and free!!?? wow! So with this...
the others I'd seen (Goodbarber seems nice but very basic/no api) all run on their platforms so you are tied in to monthly contracts. but this seems to let you build and then sends you the binaries to do with what you like. have I got that right? if so then ... another wow!
so if that's right in terms of delivering the binary - would I then just drop these into my apple developer and android play console accounts (I already have accounts for an old app a developer did for me yonks ago)?
Ah yes you are definitely correct that Bubble is for web-apps - my mistake 😅.
Haven't heard of Goodbarber but two more are Adalo and uizard - I didn't mention Adalo because of vendor lock-in and the uizard webapp seems offline so both are out of the picture.
Both your points about AppGyver are exactly right - AppGyver has a Distribute tab for each app/project where you can first preview the app (previews are done through their own app called AppGyver which shows your own app in real-time) and then once previewed, you can build the binaries and all! It's a great experience although I shifted from AppGyver to native due to reasons but still the experience was fantastic.
ah yeah Adalo seems ok, but still got it's newbie/producthunt wrapper on (including out of focus imagery!), so I fear it's not mature. and monthly price.
AppGyver is definitely going to get a test run - cheers!!

thanks @ronster37 looks quite good and promising like you say, but another that locks-in and has monthly fee which now I've found Appgyver does seem to be a draw back of a lot of them
Yes, that does seem to be the drawback of these. HOWEVER, building an app for 8, 15, or 30 bucks is wayyyyy cheaper than paying someone to do it for you or will save you a lot of time on getting your app out. The point of these platforms is to save you time on building your app because you can always get more money but you can never get back your time.
