Hi all, I'm writing a book and I want to create a simple website I can point people to if they're interested in learning more. Basically it would be a single page with some info about the book and a place to enter their email for updates. I can code but I don't have much frontend experience and I'd like to put this together with a minimum off fuss. Would love to hear from people who've done something like this - What tools did you use? What would you recommend? Thanks!
carrd.co is super good and is run by an indie hacker too!

Find a free/cheap template customise the text/images a little and host it with Netlify. Should take an hour if you have the copy.
We don't have any book specific templates but you might like https://versoly.com/templates as we have a no-code UI with a lot of blocks compared to a normal template. Can export for $49.
Hey Nate, I think you should try using Notion, then Popsy builder (https://popsy.co/) which lets you make a free Notion website. Choose between custom themes, add buttons, icons to links and so much more. It's also super user-friendly. I'd like to follow your book writing journey so drop me a link and good luck with the project 😊
Out of interest, what time frame are you looking at to build something? Days or weeks?
For the website itself, I'd really like to keep it to days. Between actually writing the book and various other stuff I've got going on, I just don't have much time to wrangle with the website design.
Or preferably minutes-hours quite honestly.
Quite a few hosting providers offer a free website builder thrown in as well. If its a simple site and you need a domain as well then that might be a quick and easy route to go down. Some offer a free small site with a domain name purchase if the bandwidth per month is low. Where you are in the world would depend on who would suggest.
