Best place for beginners to start?

What's the best place for a beginner to start with coding?
There has been wide adoption of React Native lately which is in JavaScript and if you are just getting started JavaScript is a skill you can transfer into so many things. it's easy to get bogged down with all the options. Learn something that will serve you beyond this project.
If you are looking to level up and want to pay Chris Ferdinandi has a great vanilla is bootcamp to get you started. I took it and wasn't paid for the quote on the site. Typically it goes on sale so subscribe to his news letter for deals. The other option is the JavaScript 30 course which is free.
For React there are a bunch of good courses on Udemy, but for the best results you may want to buy get a more reputable indie teacher that works on projects rather than theory. I like Scott Tolinski and Brad Traversy.
Also don't over think it. Pay for youtube. No ads. Comes with music. Tons of content for free without the hassle.
There are a lot of choices, but I feel like going with something like Java is great, but you need small wins to stay motivated. There are lots of things you could do, but you just need to focus on being able to do them.
TL;DR
JavaScript is great for beginners and you can do a lot with it.
Web/mobile development can be done lots of different ways. Don't look for the best way look for what you can do today.
Indie teachers are the best and paid youtube is a close second.
Stay away from tutorials that have "integrated consoles"
In my opinion when it comes to learning programming is to learn syntax at first, with freeCodeCamp or something similar, then moving to a video course, like Udemy, where the instructor will hold your hand from beginning to end, until you feel confident to replicate what was thought in another context.
Now, the best place to learn is very subjective, as we all work best with different approaches. I built Dev Resources with the intent to make the discovery of resources easier, and I hope this can give you some light.

That really depends on you, but as long as you're building you'll find your way around building stuff. Try all possibilities, see what works best and stick to it. 💪
Search up Angela Yu on Udemy and buy one of her courses (webdev bootcamp or ios or flutter). Highly recommended for beginner!! I took her flutter course myself and my daughter (13 yr) took webdev. Hands down best for beginners!! Best $10 I ever spent.

Very good idea! IF you are absolute beginner, anything you can get your feet wet with, is a good idea, as long as it keeps your interest alive! OTHERWISE, it depends on your near future goal - what tickles you the most. You have mentioned you want to build an app. If so, focus on learning ios or android or flutter. Search up Youtube, try to gauge the lay of the land in terms of what all you can build (mobile app, web app, wordpress website, shopify website, etc) and then enroll in a beginner course based on what interest you. Lastly, don't get hung up on trying to find the best thing (whatever that means), pick something and run with it! There will be plenty of time for course correction later. Best luck!
Yeah, I looked up Angela Yu as well and I'm very interested in her courses. I think I'm going to move more towards Swift. It seems like more of where I'm wanting to go. It seems like more of app building.

Nothing concrete. I'm in a validation phase for couple of things, whichever looks promising, I will start on that.

What do you want to be able to build? There are tons of paths you could follow, knowing where you want to go helps us recommend a good starting point.
I honestly just want to build an app. I don't even know if starting with a database is the right move??

Then probably the best bet would be learning swift for iOS or Java/Kotlin for android.
