Best Practices of UX/UI design for SaaS businesses - a single resource to follow

Hey SaaS founders, frontend developers, designers, DIY technical people.

I was always passionate about design and products. SaaS products enable users to create huge value basically just from interaction within the interface. I found this fact powerful. These tools give users superpowers.

Last weeks I've devoted a significant amount of time to start collecting the best practices for designing SaaS web applications. Mainly applicable for low touch, B2C SaaS businesses. Starting with the basics and addressing common issues I observed when cooperating with SMB.

My research is based on articles from pioneers in the UX field, established UX experts in SaaS field and niche experts, for instance, user onboarding, usability, conversion optimization and etc.

Why am I sharing the Best Practices? My argument is that the sooner you adopt these rules of thumb, the stronger will be the foundation for the growth of your SaaS business.

Please find the UX/UI Best Practices here: http://victoryofgoliath.com/minimum-viable-designs

I would love to hear your thoughts. Btw if you scroll down, you can suggest a principle that I missed so far.

Happy to help! Let me know your thoughts.

Actually nothing except maybe you add more articles like these . Can you add an article about some common out of the box hacks anyone can use to develop UI / UX for any Saas app, maybe there's a common fontface you use, styling padding etc ..

I tend to focus on high-level user experience patterns and suggest the logic rather than on low low-level like fonts, grid systems, colors and etc. However they are still important in a lot of contexts.

True to that. First I was curious by myself what are the underlying core patterns. And collect them under one roof. So anybody can benefit from it, because they are not practical tips, but rather ideas to follow to reduce the risk.

Thank you. I've shared a couple times your article to few developers and bootstrappers.
