Best project mng tool for an indie team of 2-3?

We are a team of 2 with occasional help from freelancers, bootstrapping our business. We rarely meet in person and looking for a lightweight tool for managing our projects and tasks.

Any ideas?

Notion would have been an obvious candidate but it just didn't work for us. Jira, Trello or ClickUp seem to be way too advanced for our case.

What do you guys use?

I think if you're looking for simple and lightweight - Trello is the way to go! (I think its the most simple out of Jira, ClickUp, Monday, Asana etc).

To keep it simple you can use the kanban board and just have 3 columns- Backlog, Working, Done.

I was running into this same issue, so I created a mobile app called BanKan Board. It's a simple project management app, with a Claude AI integration. If you decide to check it out, I would love any feedback so I can improve this product!

Have you already chosen your favorite?
If not, I'd suggest trying the following solutions:

    • GanttPRO. This Gantt chart maker is a great solution for task planning and resource scheduling. It provides a range of powerful project management features applied in many spheres from software development to manufacturing.
    • Airtable. This platform combines the flexibility of simple spreadsheets with additional advanced features. A good choice for small teams.
    • Toggl Plan. The tool allows for creating unlimited task boards and two types of timelines (plan timelines and team timelines). These features can be easily adapted to any workflow.
