Hi IH members,
What is your go-to tool for working with remote teams? We are a team of 5, across three continents and Slack is getting too messy. I am considering Notion teams or Basecamp. What are your thoughts?
We used slack for chats and votes while hackmd was used to record decisions, runbooks, proposals and stuff like that.
hackmd.io
Want someone to respond fast?
Are you discussing things?
Slack
Have you reached a decision?
Is it something people need to see often?
Does it describe a process?
Hackmd
That way you can just skim three hackmd documents with DECISIONS once you show up to work instead of having to follow pages upon pages of DISCUSSIONS on slack.
No fancy features, but you can quickly create a document your team should see and post it onto slack. It is pure markdown so you can export your stuff with no hassle.
Messy in what way? Slack used for too many things and can't find what you are looking for? Instead of switching tools I'd rather dig deeper into the problem (mess in Slack) and then decide what needs to change.
