Best service for SMTP emails?
Having some delivery issues using the default server our host provides, so looking to switch to a dedicated SMTP server.
Which is the best one in everyone’s experience? Especially for a side project that is small now but growing.
SendGrid gives you 100 free emails a day up to 30,000 emails, Mailjet offers 200 free a day, but only 6,000 max a month.
Any others to consider? Which ones do you use?
If purely transactional emails, go for postmark for best deliverability.
Otherwise mailgun or sendgrid.

MailGun pricing is good for occasional emails (<1 month), but if you plan to send 3+ emails per month, then pricing based on contacts stored is better than based on emails sent.

Throwing another option in: Sparkpost. They had a very good 100k free emails deal when Mandrill from Mailchimp sorta closed down. Have been using them since then, very happy.
I use MailGun and SendGrid. Both work amazing.
I recommend signing up for several different SMTP providers; sign up for accounts on Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail; then send a sample message using each SMTP provider to each email account. When I did so, I was surprised how many were routed to Spam or Bulk Mail even after setting DKIM and SPF. Based on my tests, I chose MailJet.
I really like SendGrid.
I tried MailJet prior, and it was a headache to get the send limits removed and due to that, it seems their focus is only to try to force you into being a paid member.
So, I have to say SendGrid all the way.
I use Mailgun as well because the free tier was definitely much better than competitors.
However, I think Sendgrid is a much better product. The interface is much easier to navigate and templates are a breeze (for your marketer hires down the line). I use it with clients and would recommend it if you aren't stressed about an extra $20/mo or so!

https://sendy.co/ might be worth a look, it uses amazon SES so is much cheaper than most and should have pretty good deliverability, I've used it in the past without any major issues, there is a one off cost though, but in the long run it might save you a bit of money and sending limits are negotiable.

Currently using G Suite SMTP relay service for deprocrastination.co. No issues so far, though the setup was a pain.
