Hey hackers!
I'm stuck with an idea, how to create best landing page for testing an app idea before starting its development, of course.
It's obvious that the landing page needs to hit multiple goals:
a) clearly explain a main idea of the app
b) demonstrate some basic mechanics
c) track a feedback
For me it's clear, that the best solution for the point "c" is to ask to subscribe to a newslatter or to follow the page on producthunt if we are talking about the Ship.
But what about "a" and "b"? How do you deal with that? I have several ideas — create a short video to show the idea and mechanics to the audience, create a classical landing page with one piece of information per frame.
Share your thoughts on this or maybe show your examples of testing product ideas.
Here's a picture that I hope helps:

For me, this image explains how you should go about explaining the value of your app. Don't talk about the cool features, talk about how those cool features solve the problem
Pretty informative :)
Don't use a landing page.
When you use a landing page the only data you collect (typically) is
TRUE/FALSE did they give me an email.
You don't know what their pains are. You don't know how much they are willing to pay. You don't know anything about them. Where they read. What they read. Why they gave you their email.
Just find 10 people you know would want to use the idea and actually talk to them.
Good luck!
I'm on that stage when I've already talked to that 10 people and they mostly said that the idea is good and they would like to try it.
So why I mentioned a landing page?
I think it makes sense to see how a larger audience will react on the idea with its description (video / slides). This is some sore of second phase of validation — validation on scale
