Best time to post to Hacker News

Hi, I've tried posting CritiMon to hacker news and never really got much luck. Someone I spoke to through another site (sideprojects.net) mention that hacker news can be quite good but I hadn't realised you need to add it to the show HN section by titling at the start SHOW HN, so I plan on giving this a try.

I was just wondering whether there is a particular time that is best to post to hacker news to get the best exposure, I'm based in the UK so looking for the best time to post in UK time?

Thanks
Chris

Some weeks ago this was posted to HN: https://towardsdatascience.com/how-to-get-upvoted-on-hacker-news-692360e85ef8

So the best time would be during the weekend.

    From the article:

Publish on week-ends, around 12 pacific
Reposting your story is effective, but marginally beyond once.

Thanks, I'll give it a try and see what happens :)

I can't necessarily back this up statistically, but I've never found there to be much of "set" time to post on Hacker News like there would be with some subreddits or even Product Hunt. I've posted articles / ask HN / show HNs / etc at largely the same time and have had various success with each.

What I typically try to do is align it as best as possible with mid-day around both EST and PST timezones since much of their userbase are between those timezones, with huge chunks being in NYC and SF/Seattle specifically. So for example, I'll try to post around ~2PM EST which would be around ~11AM PST. Again, I can't statistically back that up with being the best time, but it's worked for me fairly consistently. Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks, I'll give that a try, that looks similar times to what I seen when Googling around as well

Thanks for the indirect introduction to sideproject.net!

I run a similar aggregator focused on Indie Hacker centered products, tools, and resources at https://thedailystartup.club

CritiMon looks like it'd be a great product for me to feature if you'd like to submit it: https://thedailystartup.club/submit
