Best Video Conferencing APIs?
Hey everyone. Over at Exponent, we're building a new feature that will pair users in video conferences in real-time. Originally we were just using Google Hangouts/Meet but discovered that the experience isn't great for users outside our organization due to the lack of a real API.
Some options that we're exploring:
- Twilio
- Dailyco
- Tokbox/Vonage
Does anyone have experience with any of these, or recommendations for other platforms? Thanks!
Twilio put together a full featured React app for video conferencing - We played with it when looking at offering in-app Video chats and it worked pretty well!

I'll be very curious to hear what you end up going with! We never fully integrated anything but will likely come back to it at some point
I recently took a deep dive on this topic.
One of the first things to be aware of is the size of your conference will likely dictate some of your options. If it's 4 people or less, you can probably get away with WebRTC (so open source options available here), however anything more than that, you'll definitely need some kind of server/multiplexer.

Forget the specifics but I know that there area some huge companies that use Dailyco and their pricing is not too bad. Twilio just raised their prices I hear.
