Best way to launch on Reddit?
Hey! Last year I posted my website on Reddit with way more success than I expected. Today I posted the same website (well, completely new, but same topic, same domain) and got no Reddit love at all... Do you have tips on the best way to launch on Reddit? Any ideas why the first post was a success and the second one wasn't?

it's tempting to use social news sites like reddit/hn/ih to get traction but it's a wrong mindset from the start. your underlying business model must be able to acquire users with hard cash, so your CAC must be lower than your LTV, if this is not the case then any non-organic growth is almost impossible and growing your company is a pita
Agree. But it is not a one sales channel he uses I believe. Hope he has another one with good unit economy
I wouldn't use reddit for validation. Better to use real data from paid search etc

Reddit is definitely a particular audience and it might not be the audience you're going after. I generally take everything on Reddit (including my posts) with a big grain of salt. When I've posted about my company, I really just did it to see what type of feedback I would get. The comments were fascinating to see what people focused on and issues people had. Outside of seeing what people comment, I don't think you get a lot of validation/traction from Reddit.
