Best way to reach out to influencers?

Great question, I've been at Modash dealing with a lot of influencer outreach and you can find a great resource on doing it via email here:

Do keep in mind if the creator doesn't answer to your emails, it is also good to reach out to them via Instagram. Let them know that you tried to contact them. The last course of action if your messages still go unanswered is to go and comment on the creators latest content. Again writing there that you tried to reach out, but had no luck, but would very much still like to collab with them.

We have done a little of that and social DM's work pretty well.
We had some influencers do insta story and/or posts and it was far more effective than FB or Insta ads for signups for our game (it was pretty niche game though).
Basically we found the perfect influencers for our target. Then it was a DM asking if they could do us a sponsored post and quickly did deals like this. Others approached us. Usually around $50 for an Instagram story (with around 500,000 followers).
This is also something we are trying to explore with our product Viyo.io. But don't really know where to begin.
I personally don't have experience in this area but as per the thread title I have been reaching out to people while validating a product idea and I am curious to know what your approach has been.
