Best way to track leads?

Given there are more likes than comments I thought I'd put my findings here so far.

Google analytics does in fact have tracking at the page level but it's a mess to set up and view esp if you want to see email signups as well that aren't the redirect-to-new-page type.

If you have stripe for payments, you can pass the refer in through their API but thats not really enough because you'll only see it for their current session.

So far I'm looking at clicky.com, not sure if it does exactly what I need but looks promising so far.
