Hi! 🧡
This is my first startup project I've done, with my Co-Founder we're building a virtual fitting room marketplace.
Basically shoppers can build a 3D body with their own body measurements and then try clothes from different brands to see if they fit or not. We use a clothing simulation to simulate the 3D garment on the user's 3D body. Brands can upload their products (if they have 3D versions, or request us to make them) and then see user's fit data (fit %, try-on %, conversion % etc..).
The goal is to reduce return rates in e-commerce (up to 50% in some categories) which are mostly due to size/fit issues (±70%).
📈Our numbers:
• 70 shoppers signed-up & tried
• 3 brands signed-up
• ≈220 followers on our socials
• 0$ in revenue
• 600$ in costs
We would really appreciate any feedback and to hear your thoughts on this.

Our struggles:
• Attracting brands on our platform
• Creating the network effect (brands want shoppers, shoppers want brands)
Questions:
❔ Would you use this?
❔ Would you ever pay for this? What would it need for you to pay for this?
❔ Can you trust this? What would make you trust this?
❔ What do you like/dislike?
No filters, say what you have on your mind and what you honestly think thanks!
Neat idea. I agree with the comment that you should separate demos, and probably even landing pages for buyers and sellers.
As a buyer, I will probably never pay for such service, especially monthly subscription. Probably I am not the target audience, but I am not shopping for clothes every month, so monthly subscription does not fit my bill.
Can’t speak much for sellers, but I think smaller brands look for cheapest and simplest distribution options, and bigger brands are just using their own eshops. Probably offering these measurements as a plugin for a website is a better offering? Something similar to what mody does.
We've got 2 landing pages "For Shoppers" "For Brands" do you think it would be better to have just "Buyers" "Sellers/Vendors" as buttons to the two landing pages? Agree on the videos/demos, working on it.
I agree if you're not shopping monthly it's indeed probably not made for you. But perhaps many others are the same, and maybe a different model from the current freemium could fit our product. Something like a credit model (pay per fit)?
When you say mody do you mean this: https://modifit.io/?
I believe you should invest in integrating your tool with the biggest ecommerce stores, such as woocommerce, shopify etc... Offering the service as an additional plugin.
That could be an option, for us to become a plugin that integrates or become a b2b product to sell to brands to integrate into their websites. A few competitors do just that. We want more control and a more user-centric experience, where they create 1 body and then they can browse clothes, not the other way around. Maybe it's the wrong approach, we will see
It's an interesting take on the problem
First I think you can seperate your sales video for buyers and vendor
Second I'd rethink onboarding, I'm not sure by the target customers if you need an even simpler simple more or skip to the advance, I think age and weight would be the bigger blockers vs straight up measurement. What I'm missing is like an easy see what this is before committing details to the system
In one way you try to make it realistic and in another this is very cartoon/doll like (maybe that's actually an interesting niche, clothes for dolls)
You might be able to find clothes store with affiliate programs and use some budget to get some popular items into the system the manual way
Niche down on an initial customer segment, is it young female that care about both the environment and are having issues getting clothes due to weight or different average measurements since they are abroad? People that already subscribe to certain online stores?
Hey, thanks for the feedback!
Agree, separate videos for buyers/vendors is on our to-do list, perhaps should focus on this next.
For easier onboarding: would something like a DEMO body for non-logged in users which tries clothes (removing the entire onboarding step), and then maybe after 2-3 fits or once user wants to customise the body the user is prompted to login?
Realism aspect: is quite difficult indeed 😅 we're trying to make it as realistic as possible but I agree with the cartoony feel, we'll try harder to make it less cartoony.
Affiliate: we've looked into it but need to contact brands to make sure creating their products in 3D doesn't infringe any IP, but definitely is in our backlog.
Young females with fitting issues is our initial target, environmentally conscious could be a plus. Hard to find, but we've got a few contacts, will try to keep in touch and exchange with them as much as possible. You are right on people that already pay for something, I'm not sure there are any marketplaces where you have to pay a subscription, will take a look and see.
Made a zoom clip - it's a bit of a roast, sorry about that.
Hope it's useful.

Thanks for this Alex! Will find time soon to watch this carefully and reply
