beta testers wanted

a question regarding building a new product; and, a call for potential users/beta testers

I've been working in the web space for a long time, have owned a company, went back to working fulltime and am ready to start back out there on a new product.

I'm looking at the sometimes freelancer / remote work space and I'm curious what other people use to manage their careers, working as a sometime freelancer (those persons that have a dayjob but don't mind taking on extra work). How do you manage your portfolios, your client communications, your billing, etc?
