Better long and informative articles, or short, concise, and on-point ones?

Hi Writers,

Lately while writing blog posts on my website I started thinking about what format would be better to make the content more easy to read and attractive to most users.

Long and informative articles can generate less audience in the short term because people do not have time to read long articles and are generally looking for quick solutions. On the other hand, a well written informative article will generate more long-term views if it becomes popular in a particular niche group. Viceversa for short articles.

What do you think about it? Should I aim for more frequent short articles or more informative long ones? What option would you choose for yourself?

Why not do both? I've seen some successful blogs write really great long-form content and occasionally intersperse them with shorter ones. Paul Graham's blog and Wait But Why are two that come to mind.

Just make sure that your long articles actually contain useful information and are not just full of fluff. Long articles packed with interesting insights and actionable information attract readers; long articles that are boring and repetitive repel readers.

Long-form articles are always the best. Segment them into different sub-headlines and add a table of contents in the intro for easy access. SEO-wise it's good and Google will rank your page better. For your audience, they get to choose what they want to read.

It depends. What are you trying to achieve? What metics are you using as success indicators? What are your topics? Who is your audience?
