Better Patch Management

For people out there with more IT experience with help me validate the need for a patch management software that is SaaS-based and allows you to see all your environments in one place?

I worked at PwC for a bit and always remember helping clients with managing their environments but it always seemed like the offerings (SolarWinds, etc) never really seemed to hit the mark and were quite archaic. I've seen some other competitors out there but it doesn't seem like there is a clear market leader.
