Hi guys,
just wanted to share with you something that went totally the wrong way, a big fail from my end but then turned out to be amazing … which I think I can explain why after giving it a thought.
Here quickly what happened … We are collecting subscribers on our own page as well as our upcoming product page on Product Hunt. When you subscribe on dekks.app you'll receive an email with an invite to do a survey. On PH we don't. So I wanted to shoot an email to all our PH subscribers to invite them too, however I fucked up and send the email to roughly 400 subscribers who already received this invite on their initial subscribe.
However, the next morning my zapier autobot in slack kicked in and messaged us that nearly 100 people did the survey and this morning another good batch. Only 5 people unsubscribed. This is amazing and didn't expect it all … I was actually super down from it. I was worried that people will be annoyed and to be honest, it's a pretty big fail. But reflecting on it … I think if you have a real tight audience that is genuinely interested in your product, then people don't mind failure so much and are happy to help.
Just wanted to share my thoughts. Attached a screenshot of the mail …
