I recently had a community member share some feedback on my landing page. They didn't know where I offered my service, which was super valuable because I purposefully left the location out and this got me thinking. My thinking led me to the answer that I was wrong in leaving it out and I sense it is what most of us suffer from. ie. Thinking BIG, thinking global, thinking end result first with no content to thinking small, thinking local with outcomes first.
We all see the big guys on the global scene. Netflix, AirBnB etc and think 'Man, that's the way to go', so we use that as the baseline but we forget its only possible through the local scene.
By supplying the local scene with an impressive and useful service, you set the playing field up for success. A wise saying that rings a bell is, 'The end result is not a real measure of success, however many of us have been programmed to see that as the end goal. Get the cash, get the rep, get the life. Real success is the value of connections made and actions taken along the way. This is a better gauge of success.'
I will purposefully make my service platform more local now. I will think small. I will create a situation where I get to value the connections along the way and set myself up for global.
