Howdy everybody,
Today I'm launching a non-product, non-business, but personally very important project called BIPCombinator.com (or "Build in Public Combinator"). Here's why you may want to check it out 👇
I wonder if you've faced a similar frustration in your maker journey:
"I just don't have the network. I get no initial visibility. Maybe I need cofounders. Maybe I need to buy ads or something.... I'm lost."
For me, this is a common issue.
I have PLENTY of motivation to build, and I try to do "Build in Public" in the right way (not spam the X communities with generic business quotes, but actually share what I'm working on) but I definitely have work to do here.
Recently I was listening to a Podcast that talked about an early-days group-chat between Nikita Bier, Sam Parr, Shaan Puri, Greg Isenberg, Austin Rief, Sahil Bloom and Nick Huber (and I imagine others). This was years ago, in their early Twitter (pre-X) days, when these guys were all trying to build a following and acted as eachother's "Reply Guys" and boosters for their posts.
In no way am I saying these dudes were nothing without a group-chat (they're all impressive in their own rights) but it was compelling to hear that they needed a group-chat to help lift one another.
So that got me thinking:
I've always followed YC and even been a part of their co-founder matching platform. I love the concept of YC and follow their cohorts, but it never felt like the right move for me. But as I embark on this Build In Public journey, what if there was 'combinator' for indie builders like me?
And that's https://www.bipcombinator.com/
I'm doing this one as a passion project and it's not my main thing. In fact, my next 'main thing' will be launched within a BC cohort too, I think.
Taking initial cohort / founding cohort applications this month.
If you're interested, I'd love to have you onboard.
