Biweekly Retrospective | January 21st, 2021

Inspired by @yehuda's post about building in public, I thought it would be good to start sharing your learnings every 2 weeks.

Information that you share could be extremely valuable to someone down the road.

Tell us:

  • What you're working on.
  • What went well.
  • What didn't go well.
  • What you're going to do next.
  • Any questions you have.

👋 I'll go first.

Ironically, I'm building Retro - agile retrospectives made easy.

Retro

What went well

  • 9 newsletter signups! 🎉
  • Got a lot of marketing work done.
    • Fixed the site's description
    • Switched off of MailJet to Mailchimp
    • Posted my first blog post on Medium & Dev
    • Sent my first email newsletter
    • Lots of posting on IndieHackers :)

What didn't go well

  • I'm not sleeping enough, I think I need to take a day off soon.
  • The post on Medium & Dev BOMBED. Barely any traffic.
  • Didn't get much product work done. I'm migrating from GraphQL to Firebase which has been time consuming.

What I'm going to do next

  • Take more breaks!
  • Stop posting on Medium & Dev. Twitter and IndieHackers is doing well for me.
  • Block off some time to finish the API migration from GraphQL to Firebase. This will allow me to get more features done.

Questions I have

  • Should I host my own blog at blog.retro.app? Will this increase my acquisition numbers?
