Blog or community post? What's better for SEO?

I've recently rebuilt form-data.com on a new stack. Amongst other things, I've introduced peerboard for in-product support and relevant content for my customers (@vernon99 , peerboard is great!).
I was wondering where is the right place for documentation and for articles type of content, in terms of seo. in the website, under form-data.com/blog , /documentation, etc? Or in the community which is at community.form-data.com

On one hand I think that writing in the community will make it more relevant for more people, and therefore will help it become successful. On the other hand, I'm not sure it's best for SEO.
In the previous website the content on the website helped generating organic traffic, and I'm afraid I might lose that traffic, or at least the conversion rate of it will drop.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for using PeerBoard, Dan! Our SEO support is less than ideal now, but this is something we plan to massively improve in the coming months. So I'd probably recommend to put blog separately for now. For documentation, since usually it's not SEO friendly anyway (in most cases), I think this matters less and it's safe to use PeerBoard also as a knowledge base.

This is what we do for PeerBoard itself, with the blog and website living separately from the community, but us using the community for evetything that doesn't fit in the other places and may benefit from collecting member feedback.

You're right the forum isn't ideal for SEO in your current set up. Keep marketing and support separate.
