Blog Posts vs. Documentation for Early-Stage Product Launch

Hey Indie Hackers! 👋

I'm at the exciting (and slightly nerve-wracking) stage of launching a new product called PentaPrompt, a web platform designed to enhance access to large language models and streamlining interactions with these models.

As I prepare for the launch, I'm faced with a strategic decision and would love to get your collective wisdom on it. Should I focus my initial efforts on crafting blog posts that explain the features of PentaPrompt in a more relaxed and "marketingy" way, or should I invest that time in developing comprehensive documentation to really showcase what PentaPrompt is capable of?

On one hand, blog posts can be engaging and help generate buzz. They can tell the story of PentaPrompt, showcase use cases, and highlight the benefits in a more conversational and relatable way. On the other hand, thorough documentation could help users understand and utilize the platform to its fullest potential from the get-go.

What has your experience been with this kind of early-stage content strategy? Which approach do you think is more beneficial in the long run for a product that's just hitting the market?

Looking forward to your insights and stories!

Cheers, Daniel
