Blog section feedback

Hi hackers,
I am creating a blog section for our website cashcoach.io/ and would like your feedback on the following:
-What do you think of the layout/design?
-What kind of content would you like to see? Do you prefer reading long or short articles?

Here's some feedback on the design:
- The container that the search bar is in is taking up way too much space. I'd fix this since it's above the fold.
- The blog copy and the thumbnail look disconnected. This might just be me but my brain doesn't connect the two. (as in the image is a link to A, and the description to the left of it is a link to b.
- I'd consider adding an author image for each of the post thumbnails. In my experience this has increased conversions (empathy of seeing someones face or something haha)
- I'd change the hashtag colors on the featured article. Black on gray is hard to see

  Thanks @shawnjavadi, you brought up excellent points. I was initially thinking just putting on a search icon instead of a search bar & will see if that works better.
  Very good suggestion with the author image and the hashtag colours. I will add these on to the next version. Cheers!

I like the design and the dark layout, the comic book font is a nice touch.
I like articles that are informative, but longer blog posts are better with SEO.
