Blueprint for starting a company?

This is my first post after regaining a bit my lost passion for building a product. I have an idea I want to build an MVP of and to do that I was thinking of the usual things for example
- Coming up with a catchy/marketable name
- Register domain
- Ask a designer to create a logo and potentially a marketing page
- Put up a coming soon type splash/marketing page
- Start building the MVP
Do you think this is generally a good approach? I am looking forward to hearing your advice.
All of those things are fine, but ultimately meaningless if there aren't real people that need what you're offering. Who's the target audience? What problem do you solve (or super power you provide)? How do you know that problem is real? How is it being solved today?
