Bookmarks - Need to scratch this itch

Bookmark tools don’t work for me. My bookmark folder or extension just becomes an ever-growing homework list of sites I need to get back to and never do.

I’ll build up a big list, forget it’s there, and go searching for new content a few hours later - only repeating the cycle and growing the list more and more.

IDEA: A bookmark browser extension that remarkets the bookmark to you in locations you spend most of your day in. I.e. Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Reddit, Google, etc.

So instead of needing to go back to your bookmark list, the bookmark list comes to YOU. As you’re scrolling through Facebook, the extension embeds a bookmark into your feed (what looks like natively but just the extension editing the page for you) - like a remarketing ad after you’ve visited a website - but one you told the site to remarket to you.

Anybody else have the same bookmark list problem and think this might be a solution for them?

I created a small script which emails me random 5 posts from my pocket list in every day to “solve” this problem. So I think the problem is real, but the right solution is fare from obvious.

Hi there, I had the same problem with bookmark lists, so I built Prism! Prism lets you view screenshots of your bookmarks in a big grid, sort of like Pinterest but for websites. It's more visually engaging, plus it shows you what your bookmarks are without you having to open each one. It might solve a problem for you! It's free to sign up at www.tryprism.co. Curious to know what you think. Cheers!

    Hey

I'm developing one such solution where you can group by sites, tags, articles, keywords etc...

Your idea is interesting but What I am doing right now is planning to show a marked icon if the content is already marked.

And also a nice to have feature is to add notes and create stories based on your own for a single post or a list of posts.

Let me know if you are interested in one such solution

So my issue is I don't want more homework with my bookmark's list. For me, I use my bookmark list as a "remind me to check this out/read this later when I have downtime." But then when I have downtime I forget to actually go into my list to read them. So I don't care as much about being able to organize my list because I forget to even check it. What I want is for my list to come to ME not for me to remember to go back to my list. In my concept, I've thought about being able to tag a bookmark as like "Business" "Entertainment" "Personal" etc and depending upon what is tagged will determine where and when the bookmark re-presents itself to me. "Business" bookmarks would show back up for me when I go onto LinkedIn since I'm in a business mindset at the time, for example.

Sure I understand what you are asking for. You would like a nudge to read like E-mail, Push notifications or SMS on a regular basis based on the articles thats remaining.

        Thanks for the feedback

Or for them to re present themselves in situations where I’m already looking for content. Like social sites. An email sent to me during a time that I’m busy does me no good because I’ll just ignore the email and the problem still exists.
