Hey IH,
Been a long time lurker and infrequent poster. I absolutely love the community here, everyone is so positive.
As such, I'm looking for feedback on our platform, Crowdsourcer.io, from a bootstrapping perspective.
The idea of the platform is that you can collaborate with others for free, with each person investing their time and expertise (rather than money as in crowdfunding) in return for an equitable share of the profits. So it's kind of like a merging of the open source and crowd funding worlds. It's never been done before which is really exciting - and hopefully it will create a fairer way of working together where people get paid appropriately and continuously for their time, both as contributors on a project and as project creators.
My hopes are that the platform allows you to get the talent you need to create all the cool project ideas you have, as well as being more ambitious. And doing all of this while still maintaining that bootstrapping ideology and not wasting time trying to raise finance, undertaking risk or being expected to quit your day job from day 1.
So, let me know what you all think, I would really appreciate your thoughts and feedback on it.
Cheers guys,
Mike
P.S: I always get asked how value is "calculated" (and understandably so) for the profit share so here's a preemptive answer. It's done on a task by task basis, where each task has a value associated with it. This can be a function of difficulty and//or time (or whatever you like as long as it's consistent), and it's agreed upon - importantly - before the task is undertaken. As you complete more tasks your value grows, as does the proportion of your share of the profits. Simples.
