Hi all. I am a software developer whose family owns a small textile company in south korea. As you all know, USA has a huge spike of demand for facial masks. So my family was contacted by some potential buyers within USA for some bulk orders of these masks. Based on what I know, the margin for selling these are very low per item. But we are trying to sell millions of it for each order. So I am thinking of how to facilitate this business when I am working full time in USA. Also the possibility of cutting the middlemen who leave us with such a low margin. Any ideas are welcome.
As for the product itself, we are specialized in copper infused facial mask that creates an antimicrobial environment that kills virus. We can also do some custom design printed on the mask (on large orders tho). We have a sizes for children too. I examined the lab report on the antimicrobial efficiency. The mask can still reach 99.9% reduction rate after repeated machine wash cycles which you thought would break the copper infused fabric. Basically, i personally think it is a very competitive product.

Few questions for you
Are you thinking about selling the masks to regular people and not healthcare professionals?
Have done any test run in US?
How would you compete against the available options? What would be your differentiating factor?
Hey thanks for the reply.
fashionmasks for the first round. will probably need to get these tested in usa later. dont have any connection in that field either. It seems that my main goal should be finding an efficient way of hooking up with potential distributors in all states. Maybe I can find some experienced agent in that territory. I am not sure how my software development skills will help in this process tho.
Can these masks get NIOSH approval?
depends on what is their standards. i have a feeling no. the design isn't specific industrial standard. we might need to modify it to meet certain requirements.
That info you can find on NIOSH site, https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/index.htm
