Breaking the Curse of Perfectionism: Launching My Product After Years of Procrastination

Being a developer with six years of experience, I'm passionate about creating software that makes difference in people's lives. I constantly strive for perfection in everything I do, including my software projects, which has often led to procrastination and ultimately, failure to launch most of my side projects.

One day, I was listening to a podcast which i also wanted in a readable format, but the site didn’t provide any transcription. This sparked an idea in my mind.

I ideated a solution and started working on the MVP. This time I wanted to get out of being a perfectionist and update my product iteratively with validated learning, so set the launch date on my birthday (last week of March, typically I don’t care about it but this time I was excited ).

Then came the launch date, I was preparing for the launch and I accidentally stumbled on a blog in ycombinator (intentionally not sharing the details 😛) which resembled what I was working on. This made me rethink about various aspects of my product like Unique Selling Point, product positioning etc., and post pone my launch date.

It’s been two weeks since then, today I’ve decided not to think much and post this here to launch beta version of Convmary, so that I will get actual user validation and feedbacks.

This is only the beginning of long journey for Convmary, I will be posting updates about releases in future. I thank my friends who helped and supported me in launching this.
