Breastfeeding Tracker – A Simple App I Built for My Wife, Now Sharing with the World
Hey Indie Hackers,
I’m thrilled to share my latest project with you: Breastfeeding Tracker Pro, an iOS app I built to help new parents track breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, and sleep. What makes this project special to me is the story behind it—I created it for my wife after we became parents.
When our son was born, my wife struggled to find a breastfeeding tracker that wasn’t cluttered with unnecessary features, long onboarding processes, or an unappealing design. As a new parent myself, I saw how tricky it can be to juggle caring for a baby while keeping track of feedings and sleep. So, I decided to build an app that would make her life easier—a tool that’s simple, beautiful, and gets the job done.
What Breastfeeding Tracker Pro Offers
I focused on creating a minimalistic and intuitive interface to help parents log everything quickly. Here are the key features:
Quick Logging: Track breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, and sleep in just a few taps.
Analytics: View your baby’s routine with clear bar charts.
Manual Entry: Add past sessions or edit details as needed.
Apple Watch Support: Log on the go with your Apple Watch.
Dark Mode: Easy on the eyes for nighttime use.
I’ve attached a collage of screenshots to give you a glimpse of the app in action: feeding history, timer, analytics, log selection, dark mode, manual entry, and lock screen timer. My goal was to make parenting a bit easier for my wife and, hopefully, for other parents too.
My Journey So Far
I’ve tried optimizing keywords for the App Store and even experimented with Apple Search Ads, but my results have been modest so far ($30/month in revenue, as you can see in my Indie Hackers profile). I’m now exploring free promotion channels like Reddit and Twitter to get the word out.
