Broad product vision or clear product strategy?

I just had a conversation with someone about developing a product strategy at an early-stage startup.

There seem to be two schools of thought when it came to taking time thinking about product strategy at this stage.

1. Don't worry too much about it because everything changes.

2. It's important to develop a strategy at the start.
