Build in public: lift off!

Hello everyone,

We're Leo & Tom and we're building venn (https://www.venn.click).

It's an analytics tool for measuring the affect of your tweets on your Gumroad sales. By doing this we hope to give creators some perspective and insights on their tweeting strategy.

We gotta say that while building in public is super exciting we were wondering how it might affect our plans.

No doubt that building in public is also a marketing tool, a way to find expose yourself to prospects & audience, besides its great impact on accountability and the value of sharing and supporting each other.

So basically, as we see it, it's a double effort: building & marketing.

Is it possible that building in public affects what and how you build?

Did it ever happen to you that you got distracted from your original plan - or "the right thing to do" - because you thought that publishing something else will have a better outcome on Twitter or other communities?

How "pure" is this process?
