I’m building passthecard.app, a frictionless group card utility for office teams. I’ve hit a mental and tactical wall.
I am intentionally building this anonymously. No personal social media posts, and I refuse to pitch it to friends or family. Since this is a B2B tool for HR and Team leads, my personal circle isn't my target audience anyway—asking them for support creates vanity metrics, not product validation.
But the trade-off is painful: I’m starting from absolute zero. No warm leads, no early signups. Just a live URL in the void.
I’m betting on the product’s built-in viral loop (one team lead creates a card → coworkers use it without login → loop repeats), but that takes time to kick in.
For other builders who stayed behind the curtain:
How do you handle the mental grind when your initial traffic is non-existent?
What was the first "cold" channel (SEO, directories, or cold outreach) that actually brought you a real stranger who used your product?
Would love to hear how you pushed through the start.
