Building a better screen recorder
Was trying to find a decent screen recorder to create a product demo - but a bunch of the products available are lacking in features. They either have a ton of bugs or have extensive time restrictions and video limits. They also don't let you own the video outright - without uploading it to their servers.
I think a product like this should let you own the videos you create and respect what you want to do with those videos. Maybe I'll just build one for the creators, founders and students out there.
Hard to say how many people would use this but it feels like there is a potential market. My initial thoughts below - feel free to share what you think about this and if you would use it.
Some features:
- Record screen, application or just an area.
- Record mic, audio and camera.
- Take a screenshot.
- No time limits.
- No video limits.
- Annotate, draw or type on the screen.
- Export your video.
- Highlight key taps.
- Highlight mouse area and mouse clicks.
- Integrations, youtube, facebook + more?
- Maybe add streaming in the future?
