Building a community around boardgamers

I'm building a community for boardgamers to share amazing pictures of their games.

"A picture is worth a thousand words" couldn't be more accurate when it comes to a finished game! Take this picture of our finished Carcassonne board. The dragon is getting ready to hunt down those meeples but might be blocked by the fairy.

I'm hoping to appeal to the more casual boardgamers, the ones that don't really care about statistics and metrics. But do want a way to share their plays with friends and family.

I'm hoping to gain feedback on the board game journal and would love your help!

  • Is this something you might use? If not, how come?
  • Is there anything confusing or that doesn't make sense?
  • Are there any similar apps out there I can take inspiration from?
  • Do you have any ideas on how I can reach more players?

Any help, thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks Ryan! Did you post a journal entry? I would love to know what you think.

I like the idea. I game semi-regularly with a group and I don't do any tracking, but they keep tally on who wins each game, by how much etc. I see you can add players and scores and it might be useful to be able to track statistics (not sure if you do that already, just had a quick look around). Also, can you only add 1 picture per game? If so, maybe you could allow people to post multiple images and show the game progression? Just some thoughts.

Oh, very cool! Do you know what they are currently using to keep tallies?

Right now I'm working on a page for groups of people that play together. If you want, I can set up your group! Then your group can keep all of their plays together. Let me know 😁

Right now you can only add one picture but I agree, adding more definitely adds value.
