Hey 👋 guys!
Starting to post some updates here.
Several months ago, my friend and I decided to build a hardware product as a side hustle. Later, an idea for Plum (https://plum.ac/), a wireless charger with NFC tag built-in came up. Shortcuts and Tasker apps are great tools when it comes down to automating your daily routine.
Want to switch those lights off when going to bed? With the NFC tag, you got it.
This made us wonder why not build a wireless charger with an internal NFC tag? Let people explore this still-in-the-cradle technology. Get them interested in it by offering valuable features that save time and bring joy.
Fast-forward to now, we have a launched website, early prototypes, and 100 early subscribers.
It's still very early to call it a success, but we're working hard during those after-work nights and weekends to make it happen.
To sum up, wish us luck and share your advice. We definitely need it! 🖤
I love the idea of building hardware on the side! I studied mechanical engineering in college but shifted into software afterward. It's a clever idea to take advantage of the fact that everyone plugs in their phone before bed.
Will definitely be looking forward to seeing more updates on this! (It'd be awesome to see some pictures from the actual build process in updates, especially since so few of us on IH are building "real" things).
Thank you!
Sure, we have a ton to share. Will share it here as posts. Seems like 'milestone updates' do not allow to upload videos and pictures :/
I think you can use markdown to add in images, but you might need to host it somewhere to do that... not 100% sure though
