Building a marketplace with no-code

1. Generally speaking, you can build a fully-fledged marketplace with no-code. There shouldn't be any limitations unless you have some edge cases.

Platforms I suggest:

• Sharetribe - If you don't need much personalization
• Bubble - The best way to build with no-code. Although much more advanced so the learning curve will be high for you

If you build it yourself, your only costs will be domain + monthly plan for the no-code platform. However, if you want it built out for you, it'll cost you a couple grand.

If you have time to learn how to build it yourself, you should go with that route. You'll learn no-code and save money on development costs!

The answers to your questions are yes and yes - there are a LOT of tools out there to build marketplaces with no code and yes you SHOULD build it yourself.
That being said there is a so much you need to do before launch - a marketplace should be made when the community is ready to adopt it.
Do you have people waiting for your marketplace willing to "fill it up" so it won't look empty while you launch?

I'd definitely recommend trying to build it yourself with a no-code platform. I recently launched No-Code Cycle (a marketplace for no-code projects) and built the entire app on the Bubble platform. For reference, it took me about 3 months (working only an hour or two per day) to get to where the marketplace is currently at.

There are quite a few Sass marketplace builders out there like Sharetribe. However, they are quite generic. If you're looking to build a travel marketplace, e.g. sell accommodation or tours, then they won't hack it due to the complexities involved.

For context, I previously founded Clean Travel, a marketplace for sustainable tours and activities and currently run Tashi, which is a Saas no code platform specifically for multi-vendor travel marketplaces. We launched this year (2020) but already powering 10+ large travel marketplaces globally.

I'm also looking at Multi-vendor marketplace from Shopify (https://sp-seller.webkul.com/mvm-landing/#features). Wondering if anyone has looked into them before?

If you're not looking to build it all by yourself, but still want flexibility of no-code, you could consider AirDev. We're a no-code agency, and have been building marketplaces and more in Bubble the last five years.

With how robust Bubble is, limitations are really quite few. Most of the complications would come from porting over the web app to a fully native app if you wanted to list on the app store, but even that's doable with a wrapper.

Definitely you have to consider Wordpress and Woocommerce, there are many ready-made template ready to use out of the box, just with configuration
