Building a mental health & relationships platform made me rethink how people actually seek help

Hi everyone đź‘‹

While building LeapHope, an online platform focused on relationships and emotional wellbeing, I realised something that surprised me. Most people don’t start by searching for “therapy” or even “mental health support.” They search for very specific, everyday problems: why communication feels impossible, why trust is hard to rebuild, why they feel anxious in a relationship, why they feel lonely even when not alone.

It made me see how big the gap is between formal support systems and the messy reality of daily life. Many people aren’t ready for therapy, can’t access it, or simply don’t know where to start, but they still need something real, private, and practical.

Building this has changed how I think about help itself. Sometimes people don’t need a diagnosis or a program, they need clarity, reassurance, or a way to understand what they’re going through.

I’m curious how others here think about this, especially founders under pressure. When you’re struggling emotionally or relationally, what kind of support actually feels useful, and what feels overwhelming or impersonal?
