Building a multiplayer game to improve mental math
I'm working on Calcres, an online multiplayer math game where players can improve their mental math skills by competing against others.
Players can create an account, play math games against other players, track their performance, and see how their math skills develop over time.
The goal is to make practicing math more fun by turning it into a competitive game.

The competitive angle seems like it could solve the biggest problem with math practice: making repetition something people actually want to come back to. Curious whether you’re seeing players care more about beating other people or improving their own score over time.
As of now, I can't make a good analysis because there isn't enough player data yet. But from my own experience, when you play against friends, you want to be the best and win. When you play alone, you're more focused on improving your own score and profile.

That makes sense. It sounds like the interesting question is whether the competitive layer creates a stronger reason to return than the personal progression does.
