Building a Reddit-marketing SaaS to $2k MRR in a “don’t get banned” world

From chaos to clarity:

A year ago, Reddit was my nightmare.
I wanted traffic for my project, but every time I posted, I got suspended.
Six bans in a row.

Then, on the seventh try, I stopped rushing.

I studied subreddit rules, looked at what posts survived, and tracked what triggered bans.

I wrote comments first, links last.

Suddenly, it worked — one post brought 609 visits in a single day.
That’s when I realized I’d built a system.

It started as a spreadsheet and became a simple app to plan Reddit posts safely.

That app became MediaFa.st.

From spreadsheet to SaaS

The early version just listed subreddits and rules.

But users wanted more: post ideas, timing, and cross-posting for other platforms.
So I rebuilt it using Next.js + Node.js (Express) with MongoDB and cron jobs for reminders.

Users could now connect Reddit, X, and LinkedIn, generate a month-long content plan, and track progress all from one dashboard.

Each roadmap is AI-assisted, based on real Reddit behavior — what works in each community, how karma evolves, and what tones perform best.
Growing a growth tool organically

I didn’t spend a single dollar on ads.

I grew MediaFa.st the same way the tool teaches: through storytelling on Reddit, X, and LinkedIn.

Sharing small wins and experiments brought steady traffic.
Some posts even went viral, sending hundreds of new visitors overnight.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned:

  • watch your users, not just analytics.

Every week I review user sessions and note where people hesitate, skip buttons, or get confused.

Fixing small friction points improved retention more than any new feature ever did.

Building for calm creators:

MediaFa.st users aren’t growth hackers.

They’re founders, indie makers, freelancers — people who want to post without fear of suspension or burnout.

That’s why I kept the UI calm and clear: no spammy features, no “boost” buttons — just a roadmap that helps you build trust first.
Reddit isn’t about automation. It’s about rhythm and empathy.
What’s next

Right now, MediaFa.st sits at $2k MRR, fully bootstrapped, with around $14k ARR so far.

The next goal is $25k ARR, by expanding deeper into X and LinkedIn automation — while keeping Reddit the core.

AI is becoming a bigger part of the system — suggesting post variations, tones, and timing based on performance data.

And personally? I still post every week using my own roadmap.

It keeps me close to the product and to the pain points it solves.
