Building a "reverse" job board — talent sets the rate, clients apply. Tear it apart?

Freelance platforms like Upwork make talent bid against each other until the price race hits the bottom. Whoever's cheapest usually wins — even if their work isn't the best fit.

I'm building the opposite model: talent posts a fixed rate and a public profile, clients search and send a request directly to them. No bidding, no undercutting. Commission only happens when a hire is actually confirmed — not on browsing or messaging.

Right now it's a landing page + early concept (link in the product page above). I'd genuinely appreciate blunt feedback — especially from anyone who's hired or worked on Upwork/Fiverr:

Does removing the bidding step actually solve a real pain point, or am I missing why platforms don't already do this?

Would you trust a fixed-rate profile over a bidding system as a client?

What would make you NOT use something like this?

Building this in public, so every bit of pushback helps shape what gets built next.
