Hi, I'm building https://videocode.io, this will be a B2B SaaS.
I want to solve a problem I have: making customisable videos and images at scale. The current solutions are very limited in terms of customisation and ease of use.
If you were interested in making videos or images programatically, would you pay for this instead of making your own solution from scratch or would you use other options? Which ones?
Any other feedback would also be useful. Thanks.
Better add product demo (at least demo screenshot) to increase sign up rates. Sounds like a cool idea, can help you get first 20 B2B sales.
Thanks, yes I plan to add some actual video made with the app once I have something more polished.
Interesting - how far along is your project, do you have something to show so far?
I have a working proof of concept, but nothing good enough to show other people yet.
It would be interesting if you showcase a proof-of-concept or a demo, because html/css + api is a bit too broad.
Is something like snapshots or some canvas to video rendering or something else?
Yes, i'm in the very early stages now but I plan to add some actual video made with the app once I have something more polished. Basically you express the video using JSON with CSS with a light DSL on top, that gets rendered as an mp4, animated gif or jpeg (if it's a 1 frame video).
Interesting idea. What kind of videos?
The target I have in mind are companies making very custom videos, like Spotify with their yearly wrapped videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXPbNWKWEsQ
But it could technically be used for non-linear video editing as well.
Nice. So, your idea would be videos created in HTML/CSS (instead of mp4/avi/etc)? I could see this being useful for product videos on landing pages.
@csallen and @channingallen riffed on the idea of using machine learning to generate videos from text in a recent IH podcast. Definitely worth a listen, if you haven't already.
