Building a simple temporary email inbox (keeping it boring on purpose)

I’ve been working on a small side project called Temp Inbox.

The idea came from a personal problem: while testing apps or signing up for services, I didn’t want to keep using my personal email and dealing with spam later. Most temporary email tools I tried felt cluttered, ad-heavy, or unclear about how they handled data.

So I decided to build something very simple:

– a temporary inbox

– no signup

– predictable behavior

– focused on privacy and testing use cases

I’m intentionally keeping it boring and lightweight rather than adding lots of features early on.

If you’ve built tools in the privacy / dev utilities space, I’d love to hear:

- what you focused on first

- mistakes you made early

- things you wish you had ignored

Happy to share learnings as I go.
