Hey Indie Hackers!
I’m excited to share a project I’ve been working on: Notation by Fownd.
As an indie builder, I’ve always been obsessed with finding high-impact niches. After talking to dozens of clinicians, I realized that Physical Therapists are facing a massive documentation crisis. Most are losing 3+ hours every night to manual charting - a burden known as "pajama time."
Notation is a specialized clinical reasoning engine designed natively for the rehab workflow. Unlike generic medical scribes that just transcribe audio, our AI captures the nuances of therapy to generate structured, compliant SOAP notes in real-time.
We’re on a mission to reduce clinician burnout and make high-quality physical therapy documentation an invisible part of the care process.
I’d love to get your thoughts on our positioning or hear from anyone else building specialized AI productivity tools in highly regulated spaces!

specialized AI for a specific profession is the right approach. generic AI tools try to be everything and end up being nothing useful. the fact that you're building for PTs specifically means you can train on domain-specific data that generic tools miss. how are you handling the regulatory side? healthcare AI has extra compliance considerations that make or break adoption.
