Hi everyone,
After closing down Lazy Jar, I've been brainstorming new project ideas and one in particular caught my interest: a stock analysis app. This app aims to simplify the complexities of stock fundamentals for the average person interested in long-term investing.
The core feature of the app would be leveraging ChatGPT to decipher financial statements, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and income statements. It could also efficiently summarize lengthy earnings calls, distilling them into key takeaways: the good, the bad, and future expectations for a company.
Initially, I was thrilled with this concept, inspired by the myriad possibilities that ChatGPT offers. However, as I delve deeper into the development process, I'm struggling to see the app's practical value.
The excitement has given way to fatigue and weariness, and I'm at a crossroads. I'm reaching out to the community for perspectives: do you see value in such an app? Or is it better to consider this a learning experience and move on to new ventures?
Your insights would be greatly appreciated.
