For the past few months I've been working to build a website (https://www.laxgeo.com) to identify geographic trends in lacrosse participation at the high school, college and professional levels. I came into this project with a few questions I wanted to answer for myself as a Vermonter and former high school coach:
I'm relatively happy with my progress having scraped and normalized all men's college D1, D2 and D3 teams into spreadsheets. This allows me to create sortable tables that I display on the site. So far the website isn't getting a lot of traffic but I also haven't promoted it. This post is intended to share my story and hopefully that will re-inspire me to keep making consistent progress.
It would be great to work on this with someone else. That person could be interested in lacrosse, data analysis, and or software.
Cheers,
