Building an AI Chatbot That Only Uses Your Website Content

I was looking for a way to create real dialogue between my website visitors and my site’s content — but all the solutions I found were either expensive or very resource-hungry on the server side.

So I started exploring the idea of building my own chatbot plugin — one that would use AI to generate answers, but strictly within the scope of the website’s content. The goal was simple: create meaningful conversations with users while staying fully grounded in the site’s own information.

Pretty quickly, I realized that if I wanted to avoid server overload — and more importantly keep AI costs under control — I needed a structured content scanning system behind it all.

After several months of thinking, testing, and refining, the result is finally here.

Fabio AI Chatbot installs easily, can scan websites with a large volume of content — from dozens to thousands of pages — while keeping server resource usage to a minimum.

Early tests are encouraging: user engagement goes up, as the chatbot provides clear explanations along with relevant URLs to visit.

The last missing piece was giving website owners a way to understand what their visitors are actually asking.

That’s now possible through a simple conversation export feature — all interactions can be downloaded as a CSV file for analysis. More features will come, stay tunes !
