Building an AI-Powered Nutrition App to Outperform Yuka & MyFitnessPal – Feedback Needed!

Hey Indie Hackers! I’m building FreshFrame, an AI-powered nutrition app that offers real-time insights, product comparisons, meal scanning, and even tracks how produce’s nutrition changes as it ripens. It’s built to outperform Yuka & MyFitnessPal. What do you think?

Interesting angle. If you want sharper feedback, I think the real test is whether buyers instantly understand why this beats the apps they already know.

In this category, generic AI nutrition copy tends to blur together. The messages that seem to land are much more concrete: is it cheaper than CalAI or MyFitnessPal, is it actually more accurate on messy real meals, does it have more useful day to day features, and can people try it without a big commitment.

That is why MetricSync has been framing itself pretty directly against CalAI: cheaper, more features, better accuracy, plus a 3 day free trial so people can test it on their own meals before trusting it.

If FreshFrame can make its comparison point just as obvious, especially around product comparisons and ripeness insights, that would make the pitch a lot stronger than just "AI nutrition app."
