Building an MVP: There's a quicker way.

We've seen some startups achieve amazing things and I just wanted to share one thing that we've seen. Or to be precise, one thing that we've been asked to do by some of our startup customers.

So the challenge our customers had is they wanted to get their MVP right. And they wanted to do it quickly, easily and even make some sales while their product was under development. So they came to us with the solution.

What they asked for was creating a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) video. A PoC vid is where we (a video production agency) builds a mockup of the product in a video where it looks as if it's working. They show customers interacting with it, the interface, everything.

This vid can then be shown to prospective customers for feedback or alternatively they might even pre-order if it's good enough! And it's great for fundraising because VCs can see the solution and how good an idea it is!

This isn't our idea, by the way, it's something we discovered when being approached by some hugely successful customers. E.g. we mocked up an app solution at a railway station, one of the busiest in the UK for a customer which then generated them pre-sales.

Another customer created a vid to test drive their solution with prospects and then had some incredibly negative feedback about some aspects. Which is great because it saved them a ton of money in development costs as well as focus on what prospects really want.

There's a lot more to this story and while the principle's simple, it's not necessarily easy. But our customers explain to us that creating a PoC vid will save you a ton of time, money, allow you to do better research into what your customers want and you might even make some pre-sales.

So I hope this concept is useful and helps someone out there do amazing things.
